BCZ's programs and services are designed to address the unique needs of the Black Cultural Zone, which is a community that has been disproportionately impacted by gentrification and displacement.
BCZ's programs and services include:
Arts & Culture: BCZ supports Black artists and cultural organizations through grants, technical assistance, and space.
Economic Development: BCZ provides loans and grants to Black businesses and entrepreneurs, and works to attract and retain Black-owned businesses in the Black Cultural Zone.
Community Development: BCZ works to improve the quality of life for residents of the Black Cultural Zone through initiatives such as affordable housing, job training, and youth development.
Commercial Development: BCZ develops and manages commercial properties in the Black Cultural Zone, with a focus on creating opportunities for Black businesses and entrepreneurs.
BCZ's 2023 Giving Tuesday Campaign will support all of these programs and services, which are essential to the health and vitality of the Black Cultural Zone in Oakland Ca. Every dollar donated will help BCZ to continue to provide the resources and support that Black people need to thrive.
