The Black Cultural Zone Community Development Corporation (BCZ CDC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing East Oakland. Its mission is threefold: economic development, cultural preservation, and community empowerment. Through a comprehensive approach that includes initiatives like the Market Hall and Liberation Park Residences, the BCZ CDC cultivates a thriving economic ecosystem that celebrates African and African American culture while ensuring the well-being of its residents.
Black Cultural Zone CDC: Request for Proposals (RFPs)
The Black Cultural Zone CDC (BCZ CDC) invites proposals from qualified individuals, organizations, and businesses for a variety of projects that support the mission of the Black Cultural Zone.
The BCZ CDC is dedicated to:
- Preserving and celebrating Black history and culture.
- Promoting economic development and equitable opportunities within the Black Cultural Zone.
- Improving the quality of life for residents and businesses in the community.
We are seeking proposals for projects that address one or more of the following areas:
- Arts & Culture: Programs that support Black artists, musicians, performers, and cultural organizations. This may include:
- Artist residencies and exhibitions
- Cultural festivals and events
- Public art installations
- Cultural education programs
- Economic Development: Initiatives that create jobs, support local businesses, and attract investment to the Black Cultural Zone. This may include:
- Business development programs
- Entrepreneurship training
- Retail and commercial development projects
- Tourism and hospitality initiatives
- Community Development: Projects that improve the quality of life for residents of the Black Cultural Zone. This may include:
- Community gardens and green spaces
- Youth development programs
- Senior services
- Housing and affordable housing initiatives
- Education & Workforce Development: Programs that provide educational and professional development opportunities for residents of the Black Cultural Zone. This may include:
- Job training programs
- College and career readiness programs
- STEM education initiatives
- Skill development workshops
