ALENA MUSEUM

Alena Museum is a 501(c)3 nonprofit with the mission of providing critical safe spaces for the African Diaspora to express and cultivate their cultural identity in the face of gentrification.

We honor our mission by activating spaces with art installations and hiring artists from the collective to lead projects and work together to accomplish powerful creative solutions for clients who share our vision and strive to hold space in a rapidly changing landscape.

Development has come at the cost of Black Health, Land Ownership, and Belonging. Now’s the time to reclaim the urban landscape. We cultivate community ownership and creative control in real estate development.

Rooted in West Oakland, CA, we are breaking silos and conventions in neighborhood planning to build belonging across the African Diaspora.
