Outdoor Play Day

Join us for another outdoor playday at Arroyo Viejo on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 11am.  We can’t wait to see you all for some soccer drills and scrimmages led by Oakland Soul’s soccer team.  Bring the whole family out and get those bodies moving under the summer sun. We will also have some arts and craft projects going on and so much more.  See you then!”

Join us for another amazing Liberation Park Experience on the road! From 11am until 7pm in the historic Laurel District of Oakland, our Akoma vendors will be there with the items you love for one of a kind festival fun. We will also have our Umoja Roller Rink and DJ KG with us so that you can get your roll on this Saturday. We can’t wait to see you there!

We will have some Akoma vendors, Fo’Show Friday vibes, Outdoor Play party and of course, Umoja skating rink is coming with us too! Find us on 23rd & Telegraph to play and 25th & Telegraph to skate!

Liberation Park Experience at Art + Soul 20th Anniversary Festival

This weekend, we’re bringing our Akoma Market on the road and Outdoor Playday too!  Join us this Saturday at the 20th Anniversary Art+Soul Festival as we bring the Liberation Park experience to downtown Oakland once again! Our friends from the Black Arts, Music and Business District will be joining us as well! From 12pm-6pm, in downtown Oakland, we will have a dozen of our vendors, a host of children’s activities, Umoja Roller Rink on the road and  food all around!  We will be located on 14th st. between Clay St. and Jefferson St.  We can’t wait to see you there!

Poet, educator, activist and children’s book author Nancy Johnson will be having a book signing and meet and greet.

Kirk Waller will be telling both well-known and unknown stories. You’ll love his engaging, musical storytelling style. Something the whole family can enjoy.

Constance Moore will be hosting an arts and crafts session as well, designed to delight and inspire everyone in attendance.

Get well on Wednesdays with BCZ!  Offering options for your healing ranging from yoga and meditation to $5 community skating and gardening with so much more.  Join us every 1st and 3rd Wednesday for a restorative evening at Liberation Park’s new Healing Hub, starting at 4pm and ending at 8pm. 

There will be a soft launch of the Healing Hub this week, stay tuned for more information.

*Masks strongly recommended
